If you know anything about Bad Bunny, you know that his affinity for sports has been apparent in his lyrics since his earliest songs. His love for wrestling and basketball is so strong that I wrote an article on it back in 2018. You can read that here.
When news broke of Kobe Bryant’s passing, he posted a photo of him to his Instagram explaining how much Kobe had inspired him to make him the leader that he is today and also mentioned how heartbroken he was that he was going to meet him soon and would now be unable to.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #RIPMAMBA @kobebryant
Within hours, the Latin superstar had posted a clip of his new song ‘6 Rings’ dedicated to his favorite player of all time, Kobe Bryant.
The 2 minute song is a warm dedication to the former Lakers player who inspired so many on and off the court.
“I remember the first game of yours I watched/A thousand emotions and so many times you had me standing on my feet/You showed me everything is done with composure and to win you have to have heart.”
Bad Bunny continues:
“You won 6 rings, 5 with the NBA and one in a marriage that gave you your daughters/ Thinking that one of them left with you has me out of control/ But nah, it’s so you don’t play ball in heaven alone.”
