Amine drops “TWOPOINTFIVE” prod. by F1lthy, 100yrd, Maaly Raw and more.
Amine has dropped his latest project, “TWOPOINTFIVE“, a follow up EP to his first “ONEPOINTFIVE” EP. As the Portland artist describes it, “The POINTFIVE projects are the breaks in between albums where I give myself the freedom to make music without expectations, focusing instead of spontaneity and the best of what comes from stream of conscious creation, which is why they arrive unexpectedly without a long rollout. It’s an opportunity to create for my day one fans the way I used to in my bedroom.”
It’s no doubt a break from his traditional sound, with many uptempo beats thanks to his star studded line up of producers. Prior to the release of the project, Amine personally thanked all producers, mixers, and contributors to the tape. meant2b, a standout song which closed out the EP, was co-produced by F1lthy and 100yrd. I asked the New York native, 100yrd about the project and what it means for him going forward.
You’ve landed your first major placement with Amine on “meant2b”, co-produced by F1lthy. How and when did you know you made the project and what does it mean to you?
“I actually found out I made the project the day the track list came out. I knew I had a song with Amine thanks to my brother F1lthy. I just didn’t know if it would be a single or on a project. When the track list came out, and I saw the last song, I was like ‘wow, we made it on the project.’ It means a lot to me, but there’s more work to be done. It’s just the beginning.
